Narrative Experience writing

Epicenter Redux reimagines the Prada Epicenter as a spatial narrative rather than a conventional retail environment.
The project transforms shopping into a sequence of experiences, where visitors move through history, material, movement, and city identity, gradually understanding Prada not only as a fashion brand, but as a cultural and architectural language.

The journey begins with the Prada History Introduction Wall, where brand history is paired with physical materials used throughout different eras of Prada. By allowing visitors to touch and interact with these materials, the brand’s legacy becomes tangible and bodily experienced, establishing an emotional connection before any product is encountered.

From history, visitors enter Urban Prism: A Tokyo Experience, an immersive space inspired by Prada Aoyama’s iconic facade. Light, reflection, and geometry compress and expand perception, echoing Tokyo’s dense urban fabric and experimental architecture. A projected video reveals the step by step construction of the city and the building, positioning architecture itself as a form of craftsmanship parallel to fashion design.

The experience then softens within the Fabric Walkway: The Couture Corridor. Using a kinetic wall system, flexible fabric surfaces stretch and respond to the movement of the body. Visitors must physically pass through the installation, feeling the elasticity and softness of the material. This moment shifts focus from visual consumption to tactile awareness, mirroring the intimacy between clothing and the human body.

The narrative culminates in The Infinite Marketplace, inspired by Los Angeles. Blue lighting evokes the city’s nighttime atmosphere, while stepped display platforms reference common Los Angeles building materials. Products appear suspended within an endless spatial loop, dissolving the boundary between exhibition and retail. Here, fashion is no longer static but continuously recontextualized through light, scale, and movement.

Through this sequence, Epicenter Redux constructs an environment where architecture, material, and motion act as storytelling tools. Each space represents a different dimension of Prada’s identity across cities, cultures, and senses. The result is not a store, but a curated journey that reflects Prada’s paradoxical nature — constantly changing, yet unmistakably itself.
